About Me
Dr. Phillip C. Hoopes, Jr. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained corneal specialist at Hoopes Vision. He serves as the medical director of EyeSurg of Utah, the practice’s on-site ambulatory surgery center. Dr. Hoopes completed his medical training at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he also served as co-chief resident during his ophthalmology residency. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in cornea and external disease at Eye Consultants of Atlanta.
At Hoopes Vision, Dr. Hoopes specializes in cornea, cataract, and LASIK surgery. He offers a range of vision correction procedures including LASIK, PRK, ReLEx SMILE, ICL, and cataract surgery, as well as corneal treatments such as Intacs, corneal crosslinking, and corneal transplant. Dr. Hoopes is known for his surgical expertise and commitment to adopting the latest technology and clinical research. He has participated in clinical trials and was the first surgeon in the United States to perform the KAMRA corneal inlay procedure following FDA approval. Dr. Hoopes has also contributed to the ophthalmic literature through published papers and presentations at national and international conferences.
