Meet Dr. Zachary Zavodni
About Me
Dr. Zachary J. Zavodni serves as the Medical Director of The Eye Institute of Utah and is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgery. He grew up in Salt Lake City and completed his undergraduate education at Northwestern University, graduating summa cum laude with degrees in biochemistry and economics. He earned his medical degree from Duke University, where he was awarded a Research to Prevent Blindness Medical Student Fellowship for work on age-related macular degeneration.
Dr. Zavodni performs cataract and intraocular lens implant surgery, corneal transplants, and advanced vision correction procedures including all-laser LASIK, PRK, ICL surgery, and refractive lens exchange. He utilizes the latest technology in his surgical practice. He has published clinical book chapters and peer-reviewed research articles and has a special interest in corneal crosslinking for keratoconus. Dr. Zavodni has also worked with Operation Sight to provide free cataract surgery to low-income Utah residents.
