About Me
Dr. Marcus L. Allen is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases. He is a partner at the Retina Institute of Texas, providing care for a range of retinal and vitreous conditions. Dr.
Allen completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, followed by an internal medicine internship at Baylor University Medical Center and an ophthalmology residency at UT Southwestern. He then pursued fellowship training in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at UT Southwestern, where he also served as an assistant instructor. His clinical expertise encompasses conditions such as retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, macular edema, vitreous hemorrhage, and other disorders affecting the retina and vitreous. Dr. Allen is committed to providing comprehensive care for patients with complex eye conditions and is involved in professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Texas Ophthalmological Association.
