About Me
Dr. Louis Kasner is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist who has been serving patients at the Center for Excellence in Eye Care since 1996. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of macular and retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, macular holes, retinal detachment, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Kasner also provides comprehensive eye care and performs small incision cataract surgery.
Born and raised in Miami, Dr. Kasner completed his medical degree at the University of Miami and then pursued advanced training in ophthalmic pathology and immunology through research fellowships at the Wilmer Eye Institute and the National Eye Institute. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital and returned to Miami for a clinical fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Kasner is a staff member at Baptist Hospital of Miami, Surgical Park, and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He is an active member of the Dade County Medical Association, Miami Ophthalmologic Society, and Club Vit, and has contributed to the field through numerous presentations and publications.
