Meet Dr. Lawrence Tenkman

Dr. Lawrence Tenkman is a board-certified, dual fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and anterior segment surgeon at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, serving patients in Louisville, Southern Indiana, and Northern Kentucky. He specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, corneal conditions, and glaucoma. His expertise includes the latest techniques in DMEK (Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty), a advanced cornea transplant surgery for conditions like Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy, which he has helped develop to provide better vision, faster recovery, and less rejection.

Dr. Tenkman completed his medical degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine and his residency at the University of Cincinnati/Cincinnati Eye Institute, where he gained extensive experience in cataract surgery. He then pursued two fellowships: one in glaucoma at Emory University and another in cornea and refractive surgery at Price Vision Group. This advanced training allows him to handle complex anterior segment surgeries and difficult cases that other surgeons may find challenging.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Tenkman is actively involved in education and research.
