Dr. Justin Tannir

Dr. Justin R. Tannir is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing comprehensive eye care at Traverse City Eye, with practice locations in Traverse City, Kalkaska, and Cadillac, Michigan. He completed his ophthalmology residency and a specialized fellowship in glaucoma and advanced anterior segment surgery at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit. Dr. Tannir earned his medical degree from Northwestern University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

With a focus on glaucoma and cataract conditions, Dr. Tannir is actively involved in clinical research and has been at the forefront of innovation in advanced surgical techniques for these conditions. He has served as an attending physician and clinical professor at the Kresge Eye Institute and the John D. Dingell Veteran’s Hospital. Dr. Tannir frequently travels as a guest speaker to share his expertise on modern glaucoma management and surgery.

Dr. Tannir is dedicated to providing quality patient care and clinical education in the community, aiming to establish lasting bonds of trust with his patients. Originally from Troy, Michigan, he enjoys the outdoor lifestyle of northern Michigan, including snowboarding, curling, rowing, and ultimate frisbee.
