About Me
Dr. Clayton G. Scanlon is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retina and vitreous services for patients in the St. Louis and surrounding areas. He joined Retina Associates of St. Louis in 2015 and is dedicated to providing personalized care for retinal disorders. Dr. Scanlon is a native of St. Louis who returned to his hometown after completing his training to serve the local community.
Dr. Scanlon earned his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He completed his internship at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis and his ophthalmology residency at Saint Louis University, where he served as Chief Resident and received Excellence in Research and Ophthalmology Awards. His training was completed with a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the Vitreoretinal Foundation/Eye Specialty Group in Memphis, Tennessee.
Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Scanlon has been voted by his peers as one of the “Best Doctors in St. Louis.” He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Missouri Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
